Senior Vice President for Strategy and New Media Development,
Editor, Internet Strategist

Jack Lyness is a career journalist whose client relationships focus on integrated marketing programs, public relations disciplines and problem-solving Web development.
Lyness joined e-agency in 1996, handling both public relations and Web development projects. He continues to work in these areas and has added a specialization in Internet marketing to his repertoire. His major account experience includes Safeway, the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority and Community Bank of the Bay.

He spent the first 25 years of his career as a journalist, most of them managing Bay Area daily newspapers. As an investigative reporter and editor, Lyness honed his research and writing abilities and learned to work under considerable time and quality control pressures. He applies these skills to the marketing and editorial support he provides to clients.

Lyness earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University and, after working briefly as a researcher and writer for Ralph Nader, began his news career at the Messenger-Inquirer in Owensboro, Kentucky. During his career, he was an editor of the Argus in Fremont, the Hayward Daily Review, The Dispatch in Gilroy and the San Francisco Examiner. Lyness' writing, investigative reporting and the excellence of his newspapers were recognized with dozens of national and state awards.
